Hi, my name is Tahlia.
That was not my original name. Tahlia is the name my new parents John & Ewa gave me when they adopted me.
My original
name was Kaiwara Lana, but they thought that was a bit too difficult to call out in the backyard.
This is my story.
Just click on the thumbnails to see the full picture.
I was born in Caboolture, Queensland on the 27th of March, 2005.

I’m a Seal Mitted Ragdoll and when John & Ewa saw my photo on the Internet,
they fell in love with me and wanted to adopt me.
I don’t remember much about my family, as I was only three months old when I came
down to Sydney on the 23rd June 2005. Boy was that a harrowing experience.
Locked in a small cage, then taken on a trip in big noisy things. I was very frightened.
It was cold and dark when I finally arrived in my new home.
On the first day I was too frightened to go near anyone. I didn’t know who they were.
Nothing around me was familiar, it was just all too much.
On the positive side, there were plenty of places to explore and being very small, I could get into most of them.
I think my new parents liked that, as I could dust in areas they couldn’t get into.
After many hours of being in their company, I finally plucked up the courage to get close and have a little nap.
After I got more used to John & Ewa, I soon learned who was the Boss.
It was ME!!!!
At least they had this really nice bed for me. It is still comfy. Although I think I must tell them that I've grown a little bit bigger,
so it's now a bit of a squeeze. Wonder if they'll get me a new one?
Sometimes it was just nice to sleep on a warm lap. Don't look at my eyes. I wasn't well and John had to keep putting cream in them.
After a week I finally found that there was more to this home
than I thought. There were other areas to explore on the other side of that orange barricade.
New areas to explore and new toys to play with.
But I could always find a warm lap to sleep on. In my favourite position.
Sometiimes I even got to control what we watched on the TV!!
Ocassionally there were boxes to explore!!
I haven't yet told John & Ewa that I have a Paper & Cardboard fetish.
I love chewing on Cardboard and ripping paper up.
I don't think they've noticed that yet.
(Well I hope not.)
Even when John is lying on the floor, I could still
find a soft and comfy place to sleep.
After a month John & Ewa decided to let me go outside with them.
Was that great. So much to see and smell!!
Only problem was I had to wear this silly blue harness that had a bell on it.
Being outside got so exhausting.
It was nice to take a nap on John's arm.
On cold winter nights, it was nice to have a warm arm
to sleep on.
If I didn't want a warm lap or arm to sleep on,
I could always do my Psycho Kitten impersonation
behind Ewa.
After being here for 3 months, I think I have now settled in very nicely
I have even had a nap on the chairs on the deck.
I sometimes get the impression that John & Ewa worry about me.
I even heard the Vet call me a flirt.
I wonder if it's because this is still my favourite sleeping position?
When I'm outside it's nice to have a roll on the cement around the shed. It feels so good.
It's also nice to hide under the Lemon Tree.
In summer it is nice and cool under there and I can still keep watch on the backyard.
The first time I crawled under here I heard Ewa tell John that he'd better get ready
to dig out the plants and empty all the soil out to free me, but I knew I could get out.
Apart from my cardboard and paper fetish, I also have a wood fetish.
There's nothing beter than chewing on a small branch, OR
Climbing a tall tree, but more on that later.
John & Ewa even tried to teach me how to play Pool.
I wasn't very good at it though.
It was just too hard to hold the cue and my thumb isn't quite right for making a bridge.
It's much more fun just pushing the balls around the table with my paws!
Now, back to the tree climbing story.
John did everything he could to stop me climbing up the tree.
The dead bit in the middle was so much fun, the only problem was that
sometimes I went too high and couldn't get back down, so John had to
climb the tree to rescue me.
One day, when John's family came around for a BBQ, John had to climb
the tree 3 times to rescue me.
I think that upset him a bit as he was finding it harder and harder to
climb it (he is getting on a bit).
Next thing I know is that it is being cut down!!
I did have the last laugh though.
Now I have the perfect spot to watch over the garden,
looking for little friends to play with and take inside the house.
I also had a great supply of small branches to chew on.
Having other people over to visit is always fun.
Apart from having more people available to pat me and call be beautiful,
there can also be new things to explore, although this is a bit too cold for me.
When the weather got really warm, John & Ewa put this really big water dish in the backyard for me.
Sometimes it was a little bit difficult to get a drink, but at other times there were great
toys floating in it to try and play with.
Only problem was that I kept getting my paw wet.
That is not a nice feeling to a cat.
Even at the start of 2006 I still enoyed climbing the tree.
John had to try various things to keep me down low
(I still don't like that black stuff).
The tree also makes a nice place to have a rest and look for movement in the garden.
After a busy day running around and playing in the backyard I think it's now time for a rest.
WOW!! Paper and plastic. This could be fun!!
Maybe I have a plastic bag fetish too?
I think I'll just try it out for a while first.
OOPPS!! That expression on John's face says 'Not another Fetish'.
Well, it's fun bringing an old large leaf into the house and
chasing it around the room shredding it.
Maybe if John & Ewa had held that big 1st Birthday Party I wanted
and bought me that whole Tuna, then I wouldn't have to chew on
cardboard, paper, wood, plastic and leaves.
I know it's Steven's Birthday,
But I want to play with
a Balloon!!
MMM. I thought I saw something move over here.
You'd think John & Ewa would have learn't by now!!!
I love it when they leave boxes out.
This one is nice and cosy for a nap.
There was a bird up here a few minutes ago. Now where has it gone????
There is definately something in this tree. If I just stretch I could get it.
No! You can't play pool. Go away and leave me alone, I'm having a nap.
Yes, sometimes I do curl up to sleep, especially when it's cold.
MMM, a new box. I wonder if I can fit in here.
SSHH!. Don't tell them I'm here. I'm pretending to be Ned Kelly.
I wonder if this bag would look good as a hat. It certainly has a chin strap.
I know it mightn't look it, but this is quite a comfy way to rest.
Everytime I get up here, the birds have gone. Why wont they stay and play?
The comfort of a paper bag. I can pounce on John or Ewa when they go past. They wont know I'm here.
A new box - great.
I can sit in this one and play with my toys in the lid. That way they can't get away.
Come on. Hurry up and move so I can pounce on you.
It must be getting close to nap time. I can hardly keep my eyes open.
06/07/2008 - I'll just take a nap behind this tree. They wont see me.
I told you I could lick my nose!
They wont see me in here and it's more comfortable without the Kitty Litter.
I knew they put this swing here for me.
They'll never see me on the bed hiding amongst all the stuffed toys.
Busted.
NRL Semi Final. Eels and the Dogs. Ho hum. Wake me when it's over. If the Tigers or the Cats were playing then I'd be more interested.
They'll never find me in here. I'll just wait until Mum or Dad walks past, then I'll jump out and attack them.
30/11/2018 RIP my Beautiful Princess. Make sure Babcia looks after you.
